In this one-of-a-kind work entitled "Flora", James Galindo uses acrylic and plexiglass to create a wonderful and highly realistic integration of a woman's face amongst a group of brightly colored butterflies and hibiscus flowers. Using multiple layers of plexiglass, Galindo hand paints each plate individually. Once complete, the plates are then layered, one atop another to create the final composition. Using paint and glass to suggest the illusion of light, form, shadow and depth, Galindo creates unique sculptures that continue to delight.
