Nashville, Tennessee-based artist Herb Williams received his BFA in sculpture from Birmingham-Southern College. Although the artist works in an array of media, his whimsical works, which combine thousands of Crayola crayons, have garnered the most attention. Using colorful crayons, and meticulously gluing them in place, one by one, Williams produces original sculptures that continue to delight. Taking direction from Picasso, Warhol, and Indiana, Williams has embarked on stealing from the best by recreating some of the worlds greatest classic paintings in his trademark crayon style. In many ways, the results are as compelling as the originals themselves.
