A painting by Jim Lamb. "Afternoon on Aliso Creek" is an oil on linen painting executed in a palette primarily of vibrant greens, lavenders and earth tones. "Afternoon on Aliso Creek" is one of Lamb’s classic landscapes, with his distinctive swift brushstroke and monumental cliffs — a portion of which are dappled in the bright, afternoon sunlight. Lamb’s brushstrokes are built up in almost geometric form, giving this picture a strength and richness that is uncommon among California Impressionists. The painting is signed "J. Lamb" lower left, and housed in a beautiful, hand-gilded gold frame.
