"I like the idea of repetition. To me, it's like divinity". Slonem often repeats subjects that are meaningful to him, such as birds, butterflies, and bunnies.

Dawson Cole Fine Art, Palm  Desert is pleased to present “Hunt Slonem: World of Folly” at the Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage.  Inspired by nature and his 60 pet birds, Hunt Slonem is renowned for his distinct neo-expressionist style. He is best known for his series of bunnies, butterflies and tropical birds, as well as his large-scale sculptures and restorations of forgotten historic homes.  The "World of Folly" exhibition by Hunt Slonem is a celebration of the artist’s vibrant palette and playful yet sophisticated compositions.  Each piece showcases Slonem’s masterful use of color, texture, and repetition, creating works that are both meditative and lively. A standout is "Icarus" (2024), a striking metallic gold oval painting with a bold black bunny at its center, exuding mythological grace and contrast. Equally mesmerizing is "Molucans Breeze" (2023), a round canvas that captures patterned white molucans with black beaks, perched atop a colorful metallic backdrop that radiates light and depth. "Sky Lark" (2024) offers a gestural black bunny on a vivid baby blue background, punctuated by a dynamic silver brushstroke, all presented in an ornate gold frame that enhances its elegant charm. Together, these works showcase Slonem’s unmatched ability to bring nature to life through art.

Slonem’s works can be found in the permanent collections of 250 museums around the world, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Whitney, the Miro Foundation and the New Orleans Museum of Art.
