This 2014 etching and aquatint by Mel Bochner contains the artists most well-known text Blah, Blah, Blah. Bochners paintings with text were recently the subject of a retrospective entitled Mel Bochner: Strong Language at the Jewish Museum in New York City. One of the Founders of the Conceptual Art Movement in the 1970s, Mel Bochner has always been interested in systems involving language or numbers. He has now found a new audience with his brightly colored paintings with provocative language taken from popular culture. As such he has been identified as one of the Neo-Pop artists, such as Jeff Koons, who have reinterpreted the Pop iconography for the 21st century. This etching and aquatint was executed in 2014 and is signed, dated and numbered in pencil with full margins. The piece is in excellent condition considering it is fresh off the press.
